2006 " Taste of Brunswick " Festival

The Brunswick County/Lake Gaston Tourism Association hosts this annual event, and we try to capture the unique historic and cultural heritage of Southern Virginia. Highlights of the festival include craftsmen/artisians and their wares, antique cars, lots of old farm machinery, horse exhibit, Native American dancers, and many educational exhibits along with free/inexpensive rides and games for the children. There are plenty of food vendors so you will have much to pick from!
One of the main events is the annual "Brunswick Stew Cook-Off" where the State and World Champion Stewmasters are selected. Local stewmasters, as well as those from other localities and states, participate in this one-of-a-kind event. After the winners are selected, the stew is available to the public for purchase.
